The Cartamundi company, previously known as Carta Mundi, Latin for cards for the world, is a producer of card games. The company is based in Turnhout, Belgium and was established in 1970.


Now it has eleven factories and thirteen sales offices in Belgium, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, the United States, Brazil, India and Japan, among others. Cartamundi is the largest producer of playing cards in the world.

In addition to pure playing cards, Cartamundi also makes collecting cards and cards for board games such as Cluedo, Risk or Monopoly. The playing cards end up in the stores or are specially manufactured for casinos. As an example, all playing cards and chips in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale, were made by Cartamundi.
