STAM museum Ghent
The city museum of Ghent, or in short STAM is the ideal start point to discover Ghent as a cultural ambassador with a rich history. In a modern setting the museum shows you the past and future of the city.
The museum started in 2010 and is inside the old Bijloke abbey. The architecture of the building combines the old brickstone abbey with a new construction of steel and glass. In the corridors of the abbey the history and expansion of the city is told in a interactive way with more than 300 artefacts that each represent a part of that history. Very interesting are the comparisons of the old city maps with new air and satellite pictures.
